The following information describes the comments as listed on TGL reports.
Jade
- A-Jade : no indications of any treatments except for waxing
- B-Jade : indications of bleaching and impregnation with polymer resin
- B+C-Jade : indications of dying after bleaching and impregnation with polymer resin or any other colored agents
- C-Jade : indications of dying with colored agents
The following list contains those gemstones that may be subjected to heating or irradiation to improve their color or appearance. In some cases, these methods cannot be detected.
- Beryl : Aquamarine, Morganite Golden Beryl, Heliodor
- Garnet : Demantoid
- Quartz : Smoky Quartz, Amethyst, Citrine, Green Quartz
- Spodumene : Kunzite, Hiddenite
- Topaz : Blue Topaz, Brown Topaz, Pink Topaz
- Tourmaline : Rubellite, Paraiba, Indicolite, Chrome Tourmaline
- Zircon : Blue Zircon, Red Zircon, Colorless Zircon
- Zoisite : Tanzanite
Note: other gemstones may be treated as well, but these are the most important.
